Peter Umundum


Peter Umundum is a Member of the Management Board of Österreichischen Post AG (Austrian Post).

His areas of responsibility include Parcel Logistics Austria, Logistics Centres & Transport, Distribution, CEE Parcel & Turkey, Logistics Services, ProLog and Austrian Post’s subsidiaries in ten European countries. Following his studies in computer science at the Graz University of Technology, Peter Umundum began his professional career at Steirerbrau AG, where he assumed managerial responsibility for the Organisation and Computing Department.

He subsequently moved to Styria Medien AG as Head of IT and was appointed CEO of its subsidiary Media Consult Austria GmbH before becoming the co-founder and CEO of redmail. In 2001, Peter Umundum became the Managing Director of the Austrian daily newspaper “Die Presse” and three years later assumed the position of Managing Director of the daily “Kleine Zeitung”. During this time, he also served on the Board of Directors of the Austria Press Agency, the Austrian Newspaper Association and Austrian Circulation Control. In 2005 he joined Austrian Post as a co-director of the Mail Division with responsibility for Production and Logistics. In April 2011, Peter Umundum was named a Member of the Management Board of Austrian Post and Director of the Parcel & Logistics Division.

In addition, he also assumed the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the European transport network EURODIS, is a Member of the Executive Committee of the Austrian Association for Freight Forwarding & Logistic, President of the Vienna Economic Forums, Member of the Advisory Board of the Austrian Logistics Network Association and Member of the Club of Logistics.
