American Airlines will begin operating a new nonstop service between Vienna International Airport and Philadelphia on 6 May 2027, marking the airline’s first scheduled connection to the Austrian capital.

The seasonal route will operate daily using an Airbus A321XLR, an aircraft designed for long-haul services. Flights will depart Vienna at 11:40 and arrive in Philadelphia at 15:55. The return service will leave Philadelphia at 18:50 and land in Vienna at 10:05 the following day.

Philadelphia is one of American Airlines’ fastest-growing hubs and will provide passengers from Austria with connections to more than 100 destinations across the United States and beyond. Travellers will also have convenient access to destinations in Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

The route will strengthen Vienna Airport’s connectivity with North America while supporting tourism, business travel and economic relations between Austria and the United States. The service will also operate during the Christmas holiday period, enabling American travellers to visit Austria’s popular Christmas markets.
