DSV Expands Air ThermoDirect Network with Direct Shanghai Connection
DSV is expanding its global Air ThermoDirect network by introducing a direct temperature-controlled airfreight connection between Luxembourg and Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Additional routes to the United States are also planned as the company responds to growing demand for reliable pharmaceutical logistics.
The service will operate through multiple departures using dedicated freighter aircraft, giving DSV greater control over schedules, routing and cargo handling. Shanghai Pudong serves as an important pharmaceutical hub connecting international manufacturers with healthcare markets across Greater China and Asia.
Operations in Shanghai will be supported by DSV’s partnership with Eastern Air Logistics and the cold-chain expertise of China Eastern Logistics Cold Chain. DSV will also use modular, reusable thermal packaging to reduce dependence on active containers and traditional passive packaging while maintaining strict pharmaceutical-handling requirements.
The expanded network is designed to offer a more reliable, scalable and cost-efficient solution for temperature-sensitive healthcare products while improving the environmental performance of cold-chain logistics.
