Global Air Cargo Demand Continues Strong Growth in June

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has reported that global air cargo demand increased by 8.5% year-on-year in June 2026, marking another month of solid growth despite ongoing geopolitical and trade uncertainties. Demand expanded across all major regions, including the Middle East, highlighting the continued resilience of the global air freight market.
The strong performance has been supported by improving manufacturing activity, rising international trade, and increasing demand for high-value shipments such as semiconductors, AI-related equipment, pharmaceuticals, and other time-sensitive cargo. Airlines also benefited from stable capacity growth, helping to meet rising customer demand while maintaining efficient global supply chains.
According to IATA, the positive momentum reflects a healthier global cargo environment compared with the previous year. While economic uncertainty remains, sustained investment in technology and resilient international trade continue to support air freight volumes and reinforce the industry's outlook for the second half of 2026.
