The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that the 2026 IATA Cargo Experts Conference (CEC) will take place in Budapest, Hungary, on 23–24 September 2026.

Held under the theme “From Expertise to Execution,” the conference will bring together air cargo professionals to exchange practical knowledge and explore how global standards, technology and data can improve everyday cargo operations.

The programme will feature three specialised tracks:

  • Digital Cargo – advancing ONE Record adoption and applying APIs, artificial intelligence and automation to improve cargo visibility, security, data quality and interoperability.

  • Safety & Security – addressing emerging risks, dangerous goods handling and the growing issue of undeclared lithium batteries.

  • Pharma & Cargo Operations – strengthening ground handling, operational resilience and cold-chain logistics through smarter compliance and real-time data.

According to IATA, the objective is to provide participants with practical ideas and solutions that can be implemented within their own organisations, helping the air cargo industry achieve safer, more reliable and efficient operations.
