Korean Air and Thai Aviation Industries Form MRO Partnership

Korean Air has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Thailand’s state-owned Thai Aviation Industries (TAI) to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Thai military aircraft. The agreement was signed on 2 September at the Korean Air Tech Center in Busan.
The cooperation will initially focus on depot-level maintenance for the Royal Thai Army’s UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. The partners subsequently plan to expand their activities to other aircraft operated by the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Korean Air will also assist TAI with standardizing maintenance procedures and providing technical training.
Korean Air brings more than 50 years of military aircraft maintenance experience, having completed depot maintenance and performance upgrades for over 5,500 aircraft. By combining this expertise with TAI’s established infrastructure and domestic maintenance network, the partnership aims to improve the operational readiness of Thailand’s military fleet and expand both companies’ presence in the Southeast Asian MRO market.
