Lufthansa Cargo has launched its summer flight schedule 2026, further strengthening flexible and reliable transport solutions for global supply chains. The schedule is supported by the company’s own long-haul freighter fleet of 18 Boeing 777F aircraft, operating worldwide. In total, Lufthansa Cargo will offer up to 87 weekly flights to 35 destinations, with a strong focus on adapting capacity to shifting market demand and global developments.
Strong Focus on Asia and Global Connectivity
The importance of the Asian market is reflected in up to 48 weekly connections to 17 destinations across the region. The transpacific route from Ho Chi Minh City via Shanghai to Los Angeles will be increased to two rotations per week, with Lufthansa Cargo remaining the only carrier offering main deck capacity between Vietnam and China.
India is also gaining importance, with Delhi reintroduced into the freighter network from May, providing six weekly connections to better serve the market.
Across the Americas, Lufthansa Cargo will operate 33 weekly connections from Frankfurt, covering 11 destinations in North America and four in South America, including an additional frequency to Toronto.
Expanding European Network and Hub Strategy
The company continues to strengthen its European network through its A321 freighter fleet, which now includes weekly connections to Rome and Algiers. This results in 33 connections within Europe and to Africa, ensuring efficient feeder services via major hubs.
Lufthansa Cargo is also expanding its hub structure, offering transport solutions through six European hubs:
Frankfurt
Munich
Vienna
Brussels
Rome
Zurich (planned)
This development is supported by closer cooperation with SWISS WorldCargo, enabling a more harmonized product and service portfolio.
Leveraging Belly Capacity Across Lufthansa Group
In addition to freighter operations, Lufthansa Cargo continues to benefit from extensive belly capacity within the Lufthansa Group network, offering access to up to 7,500 weekly flights to over 350 destinations.
The inclusion of Lufthansa City Airlines further enhances flexibility and responsiveness to changing booking patterns. Several long-haul routes are also being expanded, including increased frequencies to destinations such as Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro, Nairobi, and Washington.
Other group airlines are also contributing to network growth:
Brussels Airlines expanding African connections
Discover Airlines strengthening long-haul routes
Austrian Airlines increasing US and Asia services
ITA Airways reinforcing European connectivity
Supporting Global Supply Chains
With a combination of its own freighter fleet, expanded hub network, and strong belly capacity, Lufthansa Cargo continues to enhance its position in the global air freight market.
According to CEO Ashwin Bhat, the company’s growing European hub structure and dense network provide customers with greater flexibility, reliability, and faster transport solutions, supporting its mission of “Enabling Global Business.”
