Saudi Arabia’s SAL Logistics Services has taken a major step in its international expansion by completing the acquisition of Aviapartner Liège, establishing its first operational presence in Europe.

The transaction, valued at approximately SAR 120 million (€27 million / $32 million), gives SAL a strategic foothold at Liège Airport in Belgium, one of Europe’s important air cargo hubs.

Aviapartner Liège provides cargo handling and ground services and connects SAL with a strategically located European logistics gateway. Following the acquisition, SAL’s network expands to 20 operational stations worldwide, strengthening connections between Europe, the Middle East and other international markets.

The acquisition forms part of SAL’s broader strategy to develop its international cargo handling and logistics network while diversifying its operations beyond Saudi Arabia.

By establishing a presence in Belgium, SAL aims to strengthen trade links between Europe and the Kingdom while providing customers with more integrated and efficient global logistics solutions.

The move represents an important milestone in SAL’s transformation from a leading Saudi logistics provider into a broader international logistics and cargo handling player.
