Sharjah Airport Authority participated in Air Cargo India 2026, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, where it presented its latest developments in air cargo, logistics, and digital transformation.

During the event, the Authority showcased its cargo expansion plans, integrated logistics solutions, and sustainability initiatives. The exhibition provided an important platform to strengthen air cargo connectivity between Sharjah and key Asian markets, particularly in the transport of perishables, express shipments, and live animal cargo. The delegation, joined by Air Arabia and Sharjah Aviation Services, held a series of high-level meetings aimed at expanding commercial partnerships and reinforcing relationships with strategic markets.

Sharjah Airport continues to position itself as a major regional cargo hub, supported by ongoing investments in capacity expansion, smart technologies, and advanced infrastructure. At the same time, the Authority is implementing development programs to increase passenger capacity while ensuring better integration across cargo, ground handling, and aviation services.

A key focus is the growing demand for integrated logistics solutions, especially sea–air cargo services, which further strengthens Sharjah’s role in global supply chains.

As part of its digital transformation, the airport has introduced advanced cargo management systems, electronic data interchange (EDI), and digital documentation processes. These technologies improve efficiency through automation, real-time tracking, and faster customs coordination.

In line with its sustainability strategy, Sharjah Airport is also enhancing environmental performance through the use of solar energy, energy-efficient systems, LED lighting, and improved waste management practices.

The airport has recorded steady cargo growth in recent years, handling over 204,000 tonnes in 2025, compared to approximately 195,000 tonnes in 2024, confirming its rising importance as a fast-growing logistics hub.

Overall, Air Cargo India 2026 provided a valuable opportunity for Sharjah Airport to expand partnerships, strengthen global connections, and support future growth in the air cargo sector.
