Yusen Logistics has officially opened its new European regional headquarters, Yusen Logistics Global Management (Europe) N.V. (YLGM-EUR), in Antwerp, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the European market and establishing a central base in one of Europe’s leading logistics hubs. The new headquarters serves as the nerve center of Yusen Logistics’ European operations, housing approximately 140 employees and supporting the company’s continued growth across the continent.
The relocation of the regional head office from Schiphol (Amsterdam) to Antwerp reflects Yusen Logistics’ long-term vision for Europe and the strategic value of positioning the organization at the heart of a major logistics ecosystem. Located at the center of one of Europe’s most important logistics corridors, Antwerp offers outstanding connectivity via road, rail, inland waterways, and maritime routes. The presence of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges – one of Europe’s largest and most strategically vital ports – further strengthens the city’s role as a gateway to international trade.
Strategic Location and NYK Group Synergy:
The choice of Antwerp also holds special significance for the broader NYK Group, to which Yusen Logistics belongs. Several NYK Group companies, including NYK Bulkship (Atlantic) NV, and International Car Operators N.V. (ICO), are already well-established in the Port of Antwerp. By bringing Yusen Logistics’ European headquarters into proximity with these sister companies, the Group aims to enhance internal collaboration and strengthen integrated logistics solutions. Closer connections with these affiliated businesses will enable more seamless service offerings to customers and capitalize on Antwerp’s robust logistics infrastructure for greater efficiency across global supply chains.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, business partners and employees. With attendance of guests Hiroki Harada, CEO of Yusen Logistics Global Management Co., Ltd. (YLGM). and Carl-Johan Hagman, president and CEO of NYK Group Europe Ltd*1., Minoru Futonaka- Managing Director of YLGM-EUR and Bruno Jacques, Deputy Managing Director of YLGM-EUR hosted all attendees.
