China-Europe Railway Express Expands to 17 Routes with 1,000+ Annual Trains at 2nd International Cooperation Forum in Xi’an

On November 18th, the second China-Europe Express International Cooperation Forum with the theme of "Connecting Asia and Europe, Sharing the Future" was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi, attracting about 450 guests from 45 countries and regions. At the forum, China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. released the newly compiled fourth batch of China-Europe train timetables, adding 7 new routes from Zhengzhou to Hamburg, Germany. So far, the number of China-Europe trains has reached 17, and the number of trains has increased to more than 1,000 per year, covering 9 cities in China and 6 cities in Europe.
This forum produced a total of 111 achievements, a significant increase over the first forum, including the signing of the "Initiative on Deepening China-Europe (Asia) Express Cooperation" between China and the five Central Asian countries, and the joint release of the "China-Europe Express Development Report (2025)" by the Office of the Leading Group for Promoting the Construction of the "Belt and Road" and China Railway Group.
In addition, during the forum, 16 China-Europe freight train cooperation projects were signed, including 3 China-Europe freight train platform co-construction projects, 4 China-Europe freight financing projects, 6 China-Europe freight train facility connectivity projects, and 3 China-Europe freight train trade smooth projects. A retrospective exhibition of the practice of China-Europe trains was also held at the same time.
The newly compiled fourth batch of China-Europe trains includes Zhengzhou via Alashankou to Hamburg, Germany; Xi'an via Khorgos to Prague, Czech Republic; Jinan to Budapest, Hungary via Alashankou; Chongqing to Budapest, Hungary via Alashankou; Xi'an to Budapest, Hungary via Alashankou; Changsha via Khorgos to Poznań, Poland; Shijiazhuang arrived in Warsaw, Poland via Erlianhot. The whole transportation time of these trains is greatly reduced compared with ordinary China-Europe trains.
"The China-Europe Express International Cooperation Forum has become an important platform for exchanges and cooperation between relevant countries. We are willing to work with countries along the Belt and Road to run international cooperation forums, continuously deepen pragmatic exchanges and cooperation, and inject stronger momentum into the high-quality joint construction of the 'Belt and Road'." Zhou Haibing, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, said.
