DHL has released the eighth edition of its Logistics Trend Radar, highlighting how artificial intelligence, robotics and automation are expected to reshape global logistics and supply chains over the coming decade.

One of the most significant developments identified is Agentic AI – AI systems capable of autonomously planning, making decisions and taking action toward defined goals. In logistics, this could include anticipating inventory shortages, rerouting shipments around disruptions and dynamically adjusting transport capacity in real time.

The new Trend Radar also highlights emerging areas including AI Commerce, the Compute Economy and humanoid robots, demonstrating how AI is expanding from digital assistance into physical operations and increasingly autonomous supply chains.

Despite increasing automation, DHL emphasizes that logistics will remain a people-focused industry. Technologies such as collaborative robotics, wearable sensors and AI-powered workplace assistants are expected to augment human capabilities, while companies will need to invest in new skills, training, safety and employee experience.

The report suggests that the future of logistics will increasingly depend on effective collaboration between intelligent technology and human expertise as supply chains become more autonomous, resilient and connected.
