MSC Strengthens Northern Spain Connections with New Transatlantic and Latin American Services

MSC has announced a significant upgrade to its NWC‑USA‑SAWC service with a new direct call at Bilbao, Spain, providing exporters in the city’s hinterland and northern Spain seamless access to major markets in the Caribbean, Central America, and the West Coast of South America. In addition, MSC is launching the Canada Express Service, a new connection from Northern Spain to Canada, designed to deliver unparalleled transit times and guarantee space and equipment on all departures. This service is the ideal solution for exporters in northern Spain looking to expand trade relations with the Canadian market.
The first vessel on the Canada Express Service rotation will be the MSC YANG R, voyage CE551A, departing the Port of Vigo on 22 December. The rotation is as follows:
Malaga – Sines – Vigo – Gijon – Bilbao – Felixstowe – Antwerp – Le Havre – Montreal – Halifax – Malaga – Sines
Meanwhile, the first vessel on the upgraded NWC‑USA‑SAWC service calling at Bilbao will be the MSC Carole, voyage 550A, scheduled for 20 December, with the full rotation:
London – Rotterdam – Antwerp – Bilbao – Las Palmas – Caucedo – Cartagena – Cristobal – Rodman – Callao – San Antonio – Coronel – Valparaiso
The enhanced service supports a variety of sectors, including plywood, raw materials, food and beverages, among others, and provides competitive transit times from Bilbao:
Caucedo – 16 days
Cartagena – 19 days
Cristobal – 21 days
Rodman – 22 days
Callao – 26 days
San Antonio – 30 days
Coronel – 32 days
Valparaiso – 33 days
MSC’s upgraded offerings also give customers access to a comprehensive suite of services, including inland solutions, customs clearance, and container stuffing. By avoiding the delays caused by congestion at traditional transshipment hubs, MSC underscores its commitment to connecting northern Spain efficiently with both Canada and Latin America.
