Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced a planned leadership transition, appointing Till Ole Barrelet as chief executive officer-designate. He will join the company on 1 May 2026 and officially take over as CEO on 1 July 2026, succeeding founding CEO Jeremy Nixon, who will move into a senior advisor role.
Since ONE was created in 2018 through the merger of container shipping businesses from Japanese carriers K Line, MOL, and NYK, Jeremy Nixon has led the company’s transformation into a unified global liner shipping operator. Under his leadership, ONE grew into a major player in container shipping, operating more than 260 vessels with total capacity exceeding two million TEUs.
Till Ole Barrelet brings more than 20 years of experience in maritime and logistics. He most recently served as CEO of Emirates Shipping Line and has expertise in ship owning, financing, container transport, and trade development across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Alongside the leadership change, ONE will introduce a new Executive Management Team structure. The team will include the CEO and representatives from all divisions, supported by regional leaders reporting directly to the CEO. The goal is to improve collaboration across ONE’s global organization and prepare the company for its next phase of growth.
The company emphasized that the succession is planned and will be seamless, with no impact on customers or partners. Company leaders praised Jeremy Nixon for building ONE from the ground up and establishing its global market position, while expressing confidence that Barrelet’s experience and strategic vision will guide the company forward.
Barrelet said he is honored to lead ONE and plans to build on the strong foundation already in place, focusing on service excellence, growth strategy, and the company’s long-term ONE2030 goals.
