Ocean Network Express (ONE) would like to inform customers of recent developments impacting cargo movement between India and Pakistan.

On May 2, 2025, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) of India issued a prohibition on cargo originating from Pakistan. Subsequently, on May 4, 2025, the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan imposed a prohibition on cargo of Indian origin.

These restrictions affect not only direct vessel calls and bilateral trade but also cargo transiting to or from third countries via Indian or Pakistani ports.

  • All containers originating from Pakistan—including empty containers, in-transit (ROB), transshipment, and import cargo—are now strictly prohibited from entering Indian ports.

  • Vessels carrying Pakistan-origin cargo that departed prior to May 2 will not be permitted to berth at Indian ports until such cargo is discharged at an alternative location.

  • The import or transit of Indian-origin goods—whether shipped directly or via third countries and across all transport modes—has been prohibited.

  • Exports destined for India that transit through Pakistani territory are also restricted.

As the situation remains dynamic, Ocean Network Express (ONE) is seeking clarification from the relevant authorities regarding the treatment of affected shipments. ONE will continue to monitor the developments closely and provide further updates as more information becomes available.
