AAHK Signs Memoranda of Understanding with Aviation Partners in Central Asia

The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has signed a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with aviation stakeholders in Central Asia, strengthening Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) position as a key international aviation and logistics hub connecting Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The agreements aim to enhance cooperation in airport management, cargo development, aviation training, and route expansion between Hong Kong and several Central Asian markets.
The partnerships reflect AAHK’s broader strategy of expanding its global aviation network and supporting the long-term growth of Hong Kong as an international gateway. Through these agreements, the parties will explore opportunities to improve air connectivity, facilitate trade and cargo flows, exchange operational expertise, and develop joint initiatives in airport operations and workforce training.
Central Asia has emerged as an increasingly important region for aviation and logistics due to its strategic location along major trade corridors linking China, Europe, and the Middle East. By strengthening ties with airports and aviation organizations in the region, HKIA aims to capture new passenger and cargo opportunities while supporting economic cooperation between Hong Kong and Central Asian economies.
The MoUs also align with AAHK’s vision of developing Hong Kong International Airport into a leading Airport City and a major logistics and trade hub. Enhanced cooperation is expected to create new opportunities for airlines, cargo operators, and businesses operating across the Belt and Road region, while promoting knowledge sharing and sustainable aviation development.
