Global logistics provider DSV and shipping giant CMA CGM have announced an expanded partnership aimed at reducing carbon emissions across international maritime supply chains. Under the agreement, DSV will use CMA CGM’s ACT+ low-carbon shipping solution, targeting a reduction of 12,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions over the next two years.

The initiative will focus on using alternative marine fuels, particularly second-generation biofuels produced from used cooking oil methyl ester (UCOME). According to CMA CGM, its ACT+ solution can achieve CO₂ emissions reductions of up to 83% compared with conventional marine fuels, offering customers a more sustainable option for transporting goods internationally.

The agreement builds on the companies’ longstanding cooperation and supports their shared ambition to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. For DSV, the partnership represents another step towards providing customers with lower-carbon logistics solutions while addressing growing demand for environmentally responsible freight transportation.

CMA CGM has also been investing heavily in alternative-fuel vessels. In 2026, the company introduced CMA CGM NOTRE DAME, a new-generation LNG-powered container ship with a capacity of 24,212 TEU. By 2031, the shipping group expects to operate approximately 200 dual-fuel vessels powered by LNG or methanol, capable of using lower-carbon energy sources.

Michael Hollstein, Senior Vice President of Global Ocean Product at DSV, highlighted the importance of collaboration in reducing supply chain emissions. He explained that the partnership will expand access to lower-carbon shipping options and help customers achieve their sustainability objectives.

The cooperation reflects a broader transformation within the maritime industry, as shipping lines and logistics providers increasingly invest in alternative fuels, energy-efficient vessels and decarbonisation technologies. Through ACT+, CMA CGM and DSV aim to demonstrate how cooperation between carriers and freight forwarders can contribute to reducing the environmental impact of global trade.
