With the continuous development of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Central Asian market is becoming increasingly vital for China. Danton lnternational Logistics has announced its strategic partnership with China Railway, integrating its extensive resources to enhance our service offerings. This collaboration enables Danton to consolidate cargo from South China and ensure daily departures from the region, seamlessly connecting shipments through the Xinjiang International Land Port to the five Central Asian countries.
This development aligns with the broader trend of increasing rail freight between China and Central Asia. In 2024, cargo transportation by rail between Kazakhstan and China reached a historic high of over 32 million tons, marking a 13% year-on-year increase. Kazakhstan's exports to China grew by 1 million tons to 13.7 million tons, with key commodities including iron and non-ferrous ores, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and grain. Additionally, transit shipments through Kazakhstan surged by 19% to 15.3 million tons, and container transit to Europe rose by 43%.
The opening of Kazakhstan's terminal at the dry port of Xi'an significantly contributed to this growth, with over 300 container trains passing through this terminal and the port of Aktau in 2024—a thirtyfold increase from the previous year.
Furthermore, the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor, experienced a 70% surge in cargo volume during the first nine months of 2024, reaching 3.4 million tons. Container shipments tripled during this period, highlighting the growing importance of this route in facilitating trade between China, Central Asia, and Europe.
As an innovative logistics solution, this new service will empower South China customers to expand their trade reach into Central Asia, overcoming traditional transportation limitations. By streamlining the logistics process, Danton significantly reduces transit time and lower costs for our clients, providing them with a more efficient and cost-effective supply chain solution.
