DHL Group and Alibaba.com have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore AI-powered logistics tools for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) trading internationally. The agreement was announced at Alibaba.com’s CoCreate 2026 conference in Los Angeles.

The companies intend to examine how DHL Global Forwarding’s services could be integrated into Accio, Alibaba.com’s AI platform for businesses. The planned connection would help users move from finding sup pliers to arranging transport in a more connected workflow. It could give them access to freight quotations, shipping options and boo      king capabilities without switching between separate systems.

The collaboration is aimed at a challenge many smaller businesses face: managing sourcing, transport and trade requirements with limited time and resources. By combining Alibaba.com’s digital commerce tools with DHL’s forwarding expertise, the companies hope to make cross-border shipping simpler and more accessible.

For the logistics industry, the announcement is another example of AI being explored as a way to connect commercial decisions directly with shipment execution. The tools are not yet an announced live service: the agreement sets out areas for evaluation, and the companies have not provided a launch date.
