DHL Global Forwarding is strengthening its air freight network between Asia and Europe by launching new weekly cargo flights and expanding cooperation within the DHL Group. The new routes connect major logistics hubs, including Shanghai and Leipzig as well as Hong Kong and Liège, and aim to improve reliability and capacity on one of the world’s busiest trade lanes.

The expansion is based on closer collaboration between DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Express, allowing the company to use shared aviation resources and offer dedicated cargo space to customers. This approach helps DHL respond to the growing demand for fast and reliable transport between Asia and Europe, where trade volumes continue to increase.

With the introduction of the summer aviation schedule, DHL will operate regular Boeing 777F cargo flights between these key hubs. Leipzig serves as an important gateway in Europe due to its strong infrastructure and central role in DHL’s network, while Hong Kong and Shanghai act as major entry points in Asia. These connections ensure efficient distribution across Europe and better service for customers.

The new Liège to Hong Kong route also includes a stop in Tel Aviv, supporting regional markets and maintaining stable operations. From Hong Kong, shipments are directly integrated into DHL’s European distribution network, ensuring smooth and continuous transport flows.

According to DHL, this expansion improves flexibility, speed, and reliability for customers by providing more controlled capacity and reducing dependency on external carriers. The company highlights that demand on the Asia-Europe corridor is growing rapidly, and strengthening its network is essential to stay competitive.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance DHL’s global logistics network. The company is also planning further improvements, including increased air freight capacity between Southeast Asia and the United States.

By combining resources across different divisions, DHL aims to deliver more efficient and resilient logistics solutions. This cross-business collaboration allows the company to better support global trade and offer integrated services across the entire supply chain.

In conclusion, DHL’s expansion of air freight capacity between Asia and Europe reflects the increasing demand for fast and reliable logistics solutions. By leveraging its own aviation network and strengthening internal cooperation, the company is positioning itself to better serve global trade flows and meet customer needs in a rapidly evolving market.
