DHL Global Forwarding has acquired Aero Cargas S.A., marking the company’s first direct operation in Uruguay. The acquisition strengthens DHL’s presence across Latin America and expands its access to important trade corridors connecting the Southern Cone, North America and international markets.

Aero Cargas brings more than 58 years of experience in air and ocean freight, industrial project logistics, land transportation and customized multimodal services. The company has also developed strong capabilities in pharmaceutical logistics, Free Trade Zone operations and regional inventory management.

The acquisition will enhance DHL’s specialized services in Life Sciences & Healthcare, project forwarding and regional distribution. Uruguay has become an important pharmaceutical distribution hub, with more than USD 1 billion worth of pharmaceutical products moving through the country annually.

Aero Cargas will become part of DHL Global Forwarding’s Peru–Ecuador–Argentina–Chile cluster, while all existing employees will transition to DHL. The investment supports DHL Group’s Strategy 2030 and its plans to expand within high-growth markets and evolving global trade corridors.
