Maersk expands integrated logistics network in Northeastern Brazil

Maersk has expanded its integrated logistics network in Brazil with the opening of a new distribution centre in Suape, Pernambuco. The facility is strategically located around 20 km from both the Port of Suape and Recife International Airport, allowing the company to connect ocean freight, coastal shipping, inland transport, warehousing and distribution through a single end-to-end logistics solution.
The investment comes as Northeastern Brazil continues to experience strong growth in trade and cargo volumes. In 2025, the region handled 329.7 million tonnes of cargo, while container traffic increased by 9% year-on-year, the highest growth recorded in the past five years.
The new facility serves industries including retail, consumer goods, automotive, electronics, food & beverage and industrial manufacturing. Covering nearly 12,000 m², it offers more than 11,000 pallet positions, 36 loading docks, and supports services such as warehousing, cross-docking and distribution.
Sustainability is also a key feature of the site. The warehouse is equipped with LED lighting, electric material handling equipment powered by lithium-ion batteries, recycling programmes and Maersk's Warehouse Management System (WMS), providing customers with real-time inventory visibility and improved operational efficiency.
