DP World Opens Egypt’s First Integrated Logistics Distribution Centre at Sokhna Logistics Park

DP World has launched Egypt’s first fully integrated Logistics Distribution Centre (LDC) at Sokhna Logistics Park, marking a major step in the country’s logistics development and strengthening its position as a regional trade hub.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and senior government officials, alongside DP World leadership. The launch also coincided with the first official visit to Egypt by DP World Chairman Essa Kazim. At the event, agreements were signed with the first three international customers using the new facility.
The LDC provides an end-to-end supply chain solution combining freight forwarding, port services, warehousing, inventory management, order fulfilment, customs support, transportation, and value-added services such as packaging, labelling, and product customisation. This allows companies to manage inventory centrally while serving multiple regional and global markets from one location.
Strategically located next to Sokhna Port within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, the centre offers direct access to key trade routes linking Asia, Africa, and Europe.
DP World executives highlighted the LDC as a key step in building an integrated logistics ecosystem in Egypt, supporting faster distribution, improved supply chain efficiency, and increased investment attractiveness.
The first customers include a Kenyan tea exporter, a global consumer goods distributor operating across eight markets, and a German fibre-optic infrastructure company, all using the hub to streamline regional distribution and re-export operations.
DP World has invested over USD 1.4 billion in Egypt’s logistics infrastructure, including Sokhna Port expansion and additional cold chain and logistics developments, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country’s role as a regional logistics gateway.
