FedEx has appointed Marcus Balzereit as President of FedEx Logistics, strengthening the leadership of its global freight forwarding business as the company continues to integrate its logistics capabilities worldwide.

FedEx Logistics combines international freight forwarding with a range of value-added services and is supported by more than 9,000 professionals across over 50 countries and territories. In his new role, Balzereit will lead the company's integrated global freight forwarding team.

Balzereit brings more than 25 years of experience in global supply chains, freight forwarding and contract logistics, with leadership experience spanning Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of APAC Sales & Solutions, where he led a large sales organization that achieved strong double-digit growth across the Asia-Pacific region.

The appointment comes as FedEx continues its broader organizational transformation toward a more integrated global enterprise. FedEx sees its logistics division as an important part of its long-term growth strategy, particularly as customers face increasingly complex international supply chains and require greater visibility, flexibility and cross-border capabilities.

Under Balzereit's leadership, FedEx Logistics plans to further strengthen its industry expertise and develop tailored solutions for high-value B2B customers. Key sectors include healthcare, automotive, aerospace, data centers and the rapidly expanding AI market.

The company also plans to accelerate growth across its core global air freight and ocean freight operations, with a focus on providing end-to-end solutions along important international trade lanes.

These capabilities will be supported by customs clearance services, specialized handling of hazardous and oversized cargo, and high-value insurance solutions. By combining parcel, freight, freight forwarding and specialized logistics services, FedEx aims to offer customers more integrated solutions across their global supply chains.

Balzereit's appointment highlights FedEx's continued focus on strengthening its international freight forwarding business and expanding its position in specialized, high-value logistics markets as global trade and supply chains become increasingly complex.
