EUTRACO, one of Belgium’s leading third-party logistics (3PL) providers, has selected Körber Supply Chain as its automation partner for a new, cutting-edge distribution center in Krommebeek, Roeselare.

This new project marks a significant milestone in EUTRACO’s strategic push towards full warehouse automation. The solution designed by Körber will allow for the complete automation of pallet handling—from automatic unloading upon arrival, to automated storage, and final presentation at the loading docks for outbound distribution—all without manual intervention.

To respond to the site's high throughput requirements while maximizing storage density, Körber proposed a highly efficient system based on Rail Guided Vehicles (RGVs) for distributing pallets to multiple Stacker Cranes, combined with shuttle-based technology for multi-deep pallet storage. This approach optimizes both performance and space utilization, ensuring the facility can handle large volumes with agility and precision. The solution is tight-up by Körber’s WCS, which seamlessly integrates with automated systems to enhance operational efficiency. Körber’s software features real-time tracking of goods and user-friendly interfaces for operators, including system visualization and monitoring applications.

"At EUTRACO, our priority is to continuously enhance service speed, reliability, and operational scalability for our customers. With growing volumes and rising complexity in logistics, we needed a solution that could support high throughput, optimize space, and future-proof our operations. Körber’s automation concept aligned perfectly with these needs, enabling us to build a warehouse that reflects our ambition to lead in efficiency and innovation." says Serge Gregoir CEO, EUTRACO.

EUTRACO’s decision to partner with Körber was driven by several key factors. Körber offered the most competitive cost per pallet while leveraging a robust, proven technology with multiple successful installations across Europe. In addition, the modularity and scalability of Körber’s solution—adaptable to any warehouse height or footprint—offered the flexibility EUTRACO needed for future growth. The powerful system response times also make it particularly well-suited to the dynamic nature of 3PL operations.

Filip Van den Broeke highlights how “this project really shows what’s possible when a 3PL like EUTRACO is ready to push the boundaries of automation. They came to us with clear goals around speed, space, and scalability — and we delivered a solution that ticks all those boxes. What makes this especially exciting for us is that it also reflects Körber’s strong momentum in the Benelux region, where more and more companies are looking for smart, future-ready warehouse systems."

This project highlights Körber’s leadership in warehouse automation and showcases how cutting-edge logistics technology can be tailored to meet the specific needs of third-party logistics providers. It also reinforces Körber’s commitment to delivering scalable, high-performance solutions that future-proof supply chains across Europe.
