MEDLOG, a logistics company within the MSC Group, and Chinese logistics firm China Master Logistics Co Ltd. announced the launch of a new joint venture on 11 March 2026 to develop a network of cold storage facilities in China. The network includes five temperature controlled sites located in Shanghai, Tianjin and Ningbo, strengthening MEDLOG’s cold chain presence along China’s coastline.

The largest facility is located in Lingang in Shanghai’s Special Comprehensive Free Trade Zone. It is equipped with advanced refrigeration and automated warehouse technologies and has a total storage capacity of around 80,000 tonnes. The warehouse is primarily designed for frozen meat storage but can also handle seafood, dairy products, fruit and other temperature sensitive food products.

As part of MSC Group’s integrated logistics network, the facility connects maritime transport with inland logistics, customs services and temperature controlled warehousing. This allows customers to benefit from a seamless cold chain solution linking international shipping with domestic distribution and storage.

The new development supports the growth of China’s cold chain logistics sector and the rising demand for refrigerated imports. At the same time it strengthens Shanghai’s position as a major hub for international trade and global shipping
