Global logistics company UPS has launched its largest and most technologically advanced logistics center in the Asia Pacific region, marking a major investment in strengthening global supply chains.

The new Taoyuan International Logistics Center (TILC), located in Taiwan, covers more than 81,000 square meters and more than doubles UPS’s warehouse capacity in the country. Situated just five kilometers from Taoyuan International Airport, the facility provides fast and seamless connections to UPS’s global network through 22 weekly flights.

Designed to meet the growing demands of modern supply chains, the center is equipped with advanced automation technologies, state-of-the-art warehouse management systems, and a full range of value-added logistics services. These features allow businesses to improve efficiency, increase productivity, and enhance supply chain resilience.

A key innovation at the facility is the use of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). These robots handle tasks such as picking, packing, and inventory management. As a result, customer orders can be processed up to 40% faster, while errors are reduced to nearly zero. The system also enables companies to store significantly more products within the same space, effectively doubling storage capacity and overall productivity.

According to UPS, the new center is particularly important for industries such as semiconductor manufacturing and medical technology, where Taiwan plays a critical role in global supply chains. The facility already serves major companies, including Applied Materials, which uses it as a regional distribution hub to support increasing demand driven by artificial intelligence.

The project represents an investment of nearly $100 million and reflects UPS’s broader strategy to expand its presence in the fast-growing Asia Pacific region. By integrating advanced technology with its global logistics network, the company aims to offer faster, more flexible, and more reliable services to customers worldwide.

With its ability to connect businesses to more than 200 countries and territories, UPS continues to position itself as a key player in global trade, helping companies respond quickly to market changes and future challenges.
