Global logistics leader GXO Logistics has launched the first Autoload system in Europe in partnership with Grupa Żywiec at its facility in Elbląg, Poland. This innovation marks a significant step forward in warehouse automation, improving efficiency, safety, and operational performance.

The Autoload system is designed to fully automate the loading and unloading of trailers, replacing traditional forklift-based processes. Instead of handling pallets individually, the system moves an entire trailer load in a single cycle, reducing loading time to approximately two minutes. This dramatic improvement allows for faster throughput and more efficient use of existing infrastructure.

Beyond speed, the technology enhances workplace safety by minimizing the need for material handling equipment in loading areas. Its precise mechanical operation reduces the risk of human error and ensures consistent, repeatable process quality. Additionally, the system can be integrated with existing warehouse automation, making it scalable for future growth.

The implementation reflects GXO’s strong focus on automation and innovation. Nearly half of the company’s revenue in Central Europe already comes from automated operations, highlighting its commitment to efficiency and continuous improvement.

For Grupa Żywiec, the new system brings tangible benefits in productivity, safety, and sustainability. In an increasingly complex food and beverage supply chain, automation enables the company to streamline operations and focus on expanding its core business.

This milestone builds on a partnership between GXO and Grupa Żywiec that spans more than a decade. Over the years, the collaboration has delivered several environmental and operational improvements, including reduced energy consumption and more efficient returns processes.

Overall, the introduction of Autoload demonstrates how advanced automation is transforming logistics by making processes faster, safer, and more cost effective while supporting long term sustainability goals.
