Lufthansa Cargo has introduced its new summer flight schedule, further strengthening its global network and expanding flexible transport solutions for customers. The company continues to focus on reliability and adaptability, allowing capacity to respond quickly to changing market demand and global developments.
The airline operates its own long haul freighter fleet of 18 Boeing 777F aircraft, offering a strong foundation for global cargo operations. Under the new schedule, Lufthansa Cargo provides up to 87 weekly freighter flights to around 35 destinations worldwide. A significant share of this capacity is focused on Asia, with up to 48 weekly connections to 17 destinations, reflecting the region’s economic importance.
The transpacific network is also being enhanced. The route connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Shanghai and Los Angeles will now operate twice per week, making Lufthansa Cargo the only carrier offering main deck capacity between Vietnam and China. In addition, Delhi will return to the freighter network with one weekly connection, increasing total connections to India to six per week.
In the Americas, the airline will offer 33 weekly connections between Frankfurt and destinations across North and South America. Capacity is being further strengthened with an additional frequency to Toronto.
Within Europe and nearby regions, Lufthansa Cargo continues to expand its short and medium haul network. Its A321 freighters are now serving destinations such as Rome and Algiers, contributing to a total of 33 connections across Europe and Africa. These services are supported by the airline’s major hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, ensuring efficient cargo flows across the region.
Looking ahead, Lufthansa Cargo will offer transport solutions through six European hubs including Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Brussels, Rome and soon Zurich. This expansion is supported by closer cooperation with SWISS WorldCargo, allowing for a more harmonised product offering and improved operational synergies.
Customers also benefit from extensive belly capacity within the wider Lufthansa Group network. The summer schedule includes thousands of weekly flights across more than 350 destinations, enabling greater flexibility and faster response to demand changes.
Several long haul passenger routes are also being expanded, including increased frequencies to destinations such as St. Louis, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro and Nairobi. Additional services across the group’s airlines further strengthen global connectivity and support cargo capacity.
According to CEO Ashwin Bhat, the combination of freighter aircraft, multiple European hubs and belly capacity across the group creates one of the most comprehensive cargo networks in the industry. This allows Lufthansa Cargo to deliver greater flexibility, reliability and faster transport solutions for global customers.
The new summer schedule has been in effect since 29 March 2026 and forms part of Lufthansa Cargo’s broader strategy to support global trade through a highly connected and adaptable logistics network.
