Maersk has announced a $100 million investment in a new fulfilment hub in Hopedale, Massachusetts, further expanding its contract logistics network in North America. The 617,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to begin operations in late August and will strengthen delivery capabilities across the Northeastern United States.
The new hub will support a major e-commerce customer and is expected to process up to 330,000 units per day during peak periods. Equipped with advanced conveyor and sortation technology, the facility is designed to provide faster, more reliable and scalable order fulfilment while positioning inventory closer to consumers.
The investment will also create approximately 1,000 new jobs across leadership, operations and support functions, delivering a significant economic boost to the local community. Recruitment is already underway ahead of the facility's opening.
According to Maersk, the project reflects the growing demand for integrated fulfilment solutions as retailers seek to improve delivery speed and build more resilient supply chains. The Hopedale hub further strengthens the company's end-to-end logistics offering across the U.S. market.
