Maersk launches integrated cold chain solution for Chilean produce exports

A.P. Moller – Maersk has introduced a new end-to-end cold chain logistics solution connecting Chile with the U.S. East Coast to improve the transport of temperature-sensitive agricultural products, particularly grapes and other regulated fresh produce.
Developed in cooperation with Oppy and the Port of Wilmington (North Carolina), the solution integrates origin handling, ocean freight, port operations, fumigation, cold storage, and inland transportation into one coordinated service. By moving the mandatory fumigation process from origin or congested gateway ports to the destination, Maersk aims to reduce delays, improve cargo quality, and increase supply chain reliability.
The new service provides exporters with greater visibility, faster market access, and a more predictable cold chain, supporting the growing demand for high-quality fresh produce shipments between South America and the United States.
