Sesé has launched its new secure cargo and parking terminals. These facilities serve as import and export control points for its customers, while also enhancing cargo security and operational efficiency and improving rest and welfare conditions for professionals.

The company has opened two facilities in Zaragoza and Barcelona, covering more than 45,000 square meters and offering 370 secure parking spaces for vehicles and shipping containers. Sesé also plans to open dedicated facilities for maritime cargo in Galicia in the near future. At these multimodal terminals, the company provides a range of services, including logistics centers for cross-docking, secure parking areas, a “Driver Area” for professional rest, machinery for handling maritime containers, customs control, goods custody, spaces reserved for dangerous goods, and 24-hour surveillance.

Manuel Gallegos, Global Director of Air and Sea Transport at Sesé, stated: “Through these facilities, we aim to provide a comprehensive service fully tailored to our customers’ needs. Not only do we create a secure environment for cargo, but we also set a benchmark in the supply chain that enables the optimisation of operations. Additionally, these facilities contribute to the rest and well-being of professionals during their journeys, making their stay more comfortable.”

Supply chain efficiency

These terminals operate 24 hours a day, providing greater flexibility, reducing warehouse congestion, optimising flows, and thereby improving overall supply chain efficiency. This efficiency also contributes directly to a reduction in CO₂ emissions, primarily through fewer last-mile journeys. The company already operates these routes using alternative technologies, such as renewable fuels, which enable up to a 90% reduction in emissions, and plans to incorporate electrification in connections with distribution centres to further minimise environmental impact. The facilities are designed to meet customer needs, allowing them to be strategically located near industrial hubs and providing the capacity to implement customised services for each sector.

Better conditions for professionals

One of the distinguishing features of these facilities is the “Driver Area,” a dedicated space designed to provide better rest conditions for professionals, creating a more comfortable, practical, and safe environment. It includes kitchen and dining facilities, a toilet and hygiene area with showers, lockers, and laundry facilities, as well as spaces for rest and leisure. Additionally, the area is open 24 hours a day, allowing vehicles to enter and exit at any time, thereby helping to reduce journey times.
