Teleport and Avalon Airport Melbourne have signed a strategic partnership agreement to establish a new operations hub at the Australian airport. The collaboration aims to strengthen cargo and e-commerce connectivity between major Asian markets and Oceania.

The new hub will support the faster and more efficient movement of international e-commerce shipments into Australia. Teleport selected Avalon Airport for its curfew-free operations, dedicated airfreight infrastructure, rapid turnaround times, and ability to handle e-commerce shipments alongside general cargo.

Teleport currently transports cargo to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth from key Asian markets, including China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The first phase of operations at Avalon is expected to begin in the second half of 2026, initially focusing on e-commerce volumes from China.

The partnership is expected to diversify Australia’s airfreight capacity, strengthen Victoria’s trade connections with Asia, and support the continued development of the region’s logistics industry.
