UPS Expands Incheon Hub to Accelerate Deliveries and Strengthen Global Trade Links

Global logistics company UPS has significantly expanded its logistics hub at Incheon International Airport, aiming to speed up import deliveries and strengthen trade connections between South Korea, Asia Pacific, and Europe.

The expansion has increased the size of the facility to nearly 6,400 square meters, more than four times its original capacity. At the same time, UPS introduced an advanced automated sorting system that boosts hourly processing capacity by approximately 4.5 times, enabling much faster handling of incoming shipments.

Thanks to these improvements, import shipments from across the Asia Pacific region can now be processed and delivered within one business day, while shipments from Europe can reach customers in as little as two business days. In many cases, deliveries within the Seoul metropolitan area can even be completed on the same day the goods arrive.

The upgrade responds to growing trade volumes between South Korea and key global markets, particularly in industries such as electronics, machinery, and healthcare. Faster processing and delivery times are expected to give businesses a competitive advantage by improving supply chain speed, flexibility, and reliability.

The expanded hub is also equipped to handle sensitive healthcare shipments, including pharmaceuticals and biologics, with temperature controlled storage ranging from minus 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. This is particularly important as demand for precise and secure transport of high value medical products continues to grow.

Incheon Airport plays a crucial role as a major logistics gateway in Northeast Asia, connecting South Korea to global markets. UPS currently operates dozens of weekly flights through the hub, linking the country to its international logistics network.

This development is part of UPS’s broader strategy to invest in its Asia Pacific network. The company is expanding infrastructure across the region to support increasing trade flows and to provide faster, more resilient logistics solutions for businesses operating in a rapidly evolving global market.
