DB Cargo Launches Seasonal Arctic Route Between China and Europe

DB Cargo Full Load Solutions has introduced a new seasonal maritime connection from Ningbo, China, to Felixstowe in the United Kingdom via the Arctic Ocean. The service operates from August to October and expands the company’s existing multimodal transport options between Asia and Europe.
The main sea journey takes approximately 21 days, making the route around three times faster than the traditional connection around Africa. From Felixstowe, feeder services reach other European destinations in around five days. Depending on cargo volumes, direct calls at Hamburg, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Gdansk are also possible, alongside onward rail and road transportation.
The service is available for goods from various industries, including automotive components, battery energy storage systems and dangerous goods. However, its suitability depends on shipment volume, destination, required transit time and the limited seasonal operating window.
