Russian transport company FESCO Transport Group has successfully delivered its first shipment of Vietnam-assembled vehicles to Kazakhstan using a new intermodal logistics route via the port of Vladivostok.
The shipment began its journey at the port of Hai Phong in Vietnam and was transported by sea through FESCO’s Vietnam Direct Line service to the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port. From there, the cargo continued by rail to its final destination in Kazakhstan, demonstrating the efficiency of combined sea and rail transport.
This new route highlights the growing importance of intermodal logistics in connecting Southeast Asia with Central Asia. By integrating maritime and rail transport, the service offers faster and more flexible delivery options compared to traditional routes.
The initiative also strengthens Vladivostok’s role as a key logistics hub in the region. The port serves as a strategic gateway for cargo moving between Asia and inland markets across Eurasia, particularly for landlocked countries such as Kazakhstan.
FESCO stated that the project is part of its broader strategy to expand international logistics services and improve connectivity between key trade regions. The company aims to develop reliable and efficient supply chains that support growing trade flows between Asia and Central Asia.
As global trade patterns continue to evolve, intermodal solutions like this are becoming increasingly important. They help reduce transit times, improve efficiency, and provide alternative routes for cargo movement across regions.
