MASkargo has resumed its dedicated freighter operations between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport, restoring an important air cargo link between two key Southeast Asian trade hubs.

The route, which previously formed part of the airline’s scheduled cargo network, had been suspended but is now back in operation as part of MASkargo’s strategy to strengthen its regional presence and respond to growing demand.

The resumed service is expected to support the continued flow of goods between Malaysia and Vietnam, improving connectivity and ensuring more efficient cargo movement across the region. Industry demand for air freight has been rising, particularly for commodities such as electronics, textiles, perishables, and e-commerce shipments, making the reinstatement of this route strategically important.

MASkargo emphasized that the service enhances reliability and flexibility for customers, especially with the use of dedicated freighter aircraft instead of relying solely on passenger aircraft capacity. The operations are supported by ground handling partner SAGS, ensuring smooth and coordinated cargo handling at destination airports.

The Kuala Lumpur Ho Chi Minh City connection also plays a key role in linking major manufacturing and export centers in Southeast Asia with global markets. Vietnam in particular has emerged as a fast growing export economy, prompting logistics providers to expand capacity and improve service frequency in the region.

This development aligns with MASkargo’s broader strategy to rebuild and expand its global cargo network, while capitalizing on increasing intra Asia trade flows. The airline, which operates a fleet of Airbus A330 200 freighters, continues to position itself as a key player in regional and international air cargo logistics.

The resumption of the route highlights the importance of air cargo connectivity in supporting supply chains and facilitating trade across Southeast Asia’s dynamic and rapidly growing economies.
