A new milestone has been reached at Vienna Airport as FlyOne Armenia officially launched direct flight services to Austria on 3 April 2026. The new route connects Vienna with the Armenian capital Yerevan, expanding travel options between Central Europe and the Caucasus region.

The airline has entered the Austrian market for the first time with this connection, strengthening Vienna Airport’s position as a key hub linking Europe with emerging destinations. The route is initially operated with one weekly flight and will be expanded to three weekly frequencies from June 2026.

Flights are operated using a modern Airbus A320 aircraft, ensuring efficient and comfortable travel between the two cities. The service departs Yerevan in the afternoon and arrives in Vienna early evening, with return flights scheduled shortly after, allowing convenient connections for passengers traveling onward across Europe.

The new connection is expected to boost both tourism and business travel. Vienna Airport sees Armenia as an increasingly attractive destination, offering a mix of cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and a growing culinary scene. At the same time, the route is set to strengthen inbound tourism to Austria and support closer economic ties between the two countries.

FlyOne Armenia’s expansion reflects a broader strategy to grow its European network and improve connectivity for passengers traveling between Armenia and key destinations across the continent. The airline aims to meet rising demand for travel between Europe and the Caucasus while offering new opportunities for transit passengers.

Yerevan, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, is gaining attention as a dynamic destination at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. With landmarks such as Republic Square and the Cascade Complex, as well as easy access to the mountainous landscapes of the Caucasus, the city offers a unique blend of history, culture, and nature.

The launch of the Vienna–Yerevan route further reinforces Vienna Airport’s role as an international gateway and highlights the growing importance of the Caucasus region in Europe’s aviation network.
